No God But One: Allah or Jesus (Nabeel Qureshi)

How much do you actually know about Islam, aside from dress codes and extremists? Perhaps, because we live in Northern Ireland, it is not something that you have encountered, or you don’t see much benefit in engaging with it. I read the first of Nabeel Qureshi’s books (Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus) last summer and was stirred by his story of conversion from Islam. I was also greatly intrigued by what he revealed about the 2nd largest religion in the world - things I had never heard before. When I saw the blurb for his second book, focused more on the divulging of the basis, facts and arguments of Islam and engaging them with Christian apologetics, I was keen to learn more. I got this book as an audiobook via Audible. Since it is read by the author himself, it has a real sense of authenticity and emotion. I thoroughly enjoyed Qureshi’s insights as I walked, ran, cooked and cleaned during the week, so I’d definitely recommend the audiobook version - which may appeal to you if you don’t classify yourself as a reader. The book is compelling because the author’s clear structure is based on the defining points of his own personal delving into the apologetics of Christianity and the arguments seeking to preserve Islam. As one who fought at all cost to find the truth in Islam it is incredible to hear the author logically and definitely working through all arguments to clearly find Christ as LORD. For me this book provided not only insight into a religion I knew little about but also warmed my heart as I once more drank in the historical, scientific and logical explanations and apologetics of Christianity, all the while seeing the grace and beauty of Christ. It informed my head and brought encouragement to my heart as well as a challenge to pray for those caught in the darkness of Islam and for those seeking to reach them with the Gospel.
